Our Handmade Chocolates
Our chocolates are handcrafted and hand painted in Alaska by our master chocolatier, Chef Ingrid. They’re sourced from the finest chocolate makers in Switzerland and transformed into delicious and beautiful confections for the people of Alaska (and the world!)
The chocolate we create uses incredible hand-painted layers of cocoa butter colors to encapsulate the beautiful Aurora Borealis. These handmade delights are a labor of love and a testament to Chef Ingrid’s dedication to her craft.
Our Aurora Chocolates
Our signature Aurora chocolates are mesmerizing in their use of color and decadent in flavor, but this comes with a time-intensive process and high skill requirement. Each chocolate is brushed with colored cocoa butter that requires an absolute perfect temperature to set properly. Even one or two degrees off can make the coat lose its luster or take even more time.
When each Aurora chocolate involves 3 or 4 flavors of layered cocoa butter, this process requires a patient chocolatier and an eye for detail. In the end, it’s all worth it to have one of the most vibrant and delicious chocolates on the market!
About Chef Ingrid
Our head chef, Ingrid Shim, has a track record of excellence worldwide. Previously, she was the head chocolatier at the Hotel SLS in Beverly Hills and worked with world-renowned chefs and chocolatiers in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Paris. Chef Ingrid insists on only the highest-quality ingredients and is always striving for perfection, so it’s no wonder every piece of Aurora Chocolate is so delicious!
